The new Colchester based warehouse has been designed to expand capacity by 5,000 pallets, has over 4,000 pick faces dedicated to ecommerce and boasts some of their latest carbon-conscious warehousing initiatives.
Since the Marks Tey location opened its doors to clients in the 1st week of August, Woodland Group have onboarded new customers and brands that will all be operational for the 2021 peak trading period.
It’s a really exciting time for our fulfilment teams and clients, as we further develop the solutions we’re able to deliver to support forward-thinking businesses in changing ecommerce and supply chain management processes for greater positive impact.
As part of the expansion they needed to develop and evolve their warehouse solution to fulfil their ambitions and manage the increased volume. tmWare and Woodland have worked together for many years and so we see ourselves as an integral part of the operation. For this project we worked with their team to redesign their warehouse management, and deliver a truly transformational suite of technology to manage all aspects of their operation, from order to invoice. This now allows them to deliver a fully paperless, integrated solution that works with all the major shopping carts and retailers whilst allowing for peak order picking in excess of 180,000 B2C orders per month.
We are now entering a new level of working relationship whereby we have a dedicated account manager working closely with the operational team at Woodland always looking to improve our systems and drive efficiencies to keep them one step ahead.
We’ve had a very successful relationship with Woodland Group for many years so It was important for us to take the time to understand Woodlands vision with the new site and expansion plans. By working together we’ve identified a new process flow which allows them to benefit from the full software suite driving greater efficiencies and providing more visibility. This very proactive, collaborative approach is reaping rewards already for both of us and we’re delighted to be sharing their exciting journey.
Our long standing relationship with Woodland has, we believe, persisted because we’ve continued to impress them with our can-do attitude. As a relatively small team we have the flexibility and adaptability to respond to events quickly, this makes us more dynamic than a larger organisation.
Who Gives A Crap…. we do!
During the pandemic many surprising heroes have presented themselves. There are many in the limelight but, behind the scenes, there are lesser-known heroes. Lesser-known perhaps, but not lesser – these unsung heroes have been keeping the country going.
The beginning of lockdown was a strange and worrying time, with everyday essentials difficult to get as supermarket shelves became bare, with toilet paper becoming the most in-demand. But Who Gives a Crap?
Well, Australian-based ethical bamboo toilet paper company, Who Gives a Crap did; and they needed a logistics partner who could get them operational within days.
We worked with the Woodland Group team and successfully delivered a new implementation in record time and under very challenging circumstances.
Our personal touch, and ongoing support combined with our cutting edge, dynamic WMS technology is why Woodlands Group keeps returning to us.
